The Club is located 12 km south of Hobart and it has 2 full size courts for play

Events

Kingston Croquet Club enters teams in each pennant division in both association croquet and golf croquet.  

Members enter events held by other Clubs during the year as well as the Tasmanian Open Championships.

• April/May Club Championships and handicap championships held for each division.  Entry is restricted to full Kingston Croquet Club members
• November - Melbourne Cup luncheon and social play
• December - Club Christmas Dinner

• January - annual BBQ and social play    (Top)

Membership

Full membership

We are always pleased to welcome new members to the Club.  Prospective members are invited to come along and have 3 free lessons.  Then they are invited to have 6 introductory lessons for a cost of $30 prior to joining the Club.  During these lessons the basic skills will be taught. 

Annual fees are $200 due each April plus a $15 joining fee.  Members then pay $2 for each day they play or practice on the courts with a weekly ceiling of $6 - this fee entitles them to morning and afternoon tea also.

Associate Members

A full member of another Tasmanian Croquet Club may join Kingston Croquet Club as an associate member.  The subscription is equal to half that of a full member.  Associate members are entitled to normal privileges except they may not vote at General Meetings nor play in any Club Championship.    (Top)

Coaching

Introductory coaching is available as mentioned above but learners are encouraged to practise between lessons.

Club coaches are always willing to provide individual or group coaching on request.  On occasions regular formal sessions are conducted.    (Top)

Play

Kingston Croquet Club has two full sized courts.  Draws for play are conducted at 9.55 am for the morning session and 1.25 pm for the afternoon session.  Morning play is in Divisions and afternoon play is mixed with bisques.

Visitors are welcome at any time - please phone the Club to make arrangements.  Visitor fee is $4 per day.

During winter the above schedule is generally followed but there may be occasions when lawn conditions or planned lawn maintenance may cause lawns to be closed.    (Top)

Dress

Flat soled shoes are required at all times.

For pennant and competition play  and other official functions:

Players may wear either all white sporting apparel or a combination of navy blue and white.  These are our Club colours. We do have club polo shirts and bulk orders are placed for additional shirts from time to time.

For social play:

There is no specific dress code - players should dress for the conditions and ensure they have adequate sun protection.    (Top)
